Square Cut Flagstone:

Square Cut flagstone is available in several colors and types of stone: Autumn Brown, Travertine, Brunswick Limestone, Scotia Slate & Earthtone.

Square cut is the perfect stone for patios where a flat surface is required.  Also suitable for walkways and pathways, square cut flagstone is easy to lay and looks beautiful.

Most square cut products offer a variety of sizes, some with as many as six.  Depending on the product, these are cut fairly consistently, but there is some variation, although it is not enough to pose any problems.

Similarly, the height of the square cut is consistent.  This is important to know as you will need to minimize the number of stones that are raised above the rest.

Random Flagstone:

Random Flagstone, sometimes called irregular flagstone, are flat pieces of stone that come in all shapes and sizes.  These stones come in two basic heights: 1" - 1.5" and 1.5" - 2".  The thinner of the two is suitable for low traffic areas such as pathways but it is susceptible to breakage if the base is not prepared properly (see installation for Natural Stone for more on this).  The 1.5" - 2" is fine to use anywhere.  In fact, if it is mortared in place, it can be used as a driveway.  Again, the base is the most important part of the installation.

Random flagstone does have some variation in height and proper installation is important to obtain a good result.

Jumbo Flagstone:

Jumbo or oversized flagstone is random flagstone that comes in larger sizes.  This type of flagstone is great for use in a pathway or walkway and can be used as large stepping stones.  This can save a lot of time and effort during the installation process.

Tumbled Flagstone:

Tumbled Flagstone or Cobblestone is simply random flagstone that is put into a tumbler to round the edges.  Our Old English Cobble is easy to lay as it is all the same height and doesn't need to be cut.
